GR Hall and Johnny BlueIt was the late 70's (Winter of 1978 to be exact) that fate intervened into the lives of two kindred spirits. Disco and punk were just starting to rage. Hair and shoes were getting taller, safety pins and spikes of all kinds were being spotted in the oddest locations, and there was a thriving music industry in Southern California.

Although some of what was "current" surely had some sort of effect on these two musicians, for the most part they remained true to what was to be their future.GR Hall (standing) And Johnny Blue

GR Hall and Johnny Blue met for the first time that fateful night, in a garage in Costa Mesa, California. Their mission was not yet clear to them, but it was the start of a long relationship that took many twists and turns over the years.

Suffice it to say that their true roots not only kept them sane over the years, but grounded them in what was to become their "calling".GR Hall and Johnny Blue

Twenty-six years from that night long ago, the Boxcar Blues Band is finally going to take it's rightful place in the world - onstage and on CD as a true Blues Band.

We hope you enjoy our material and welcome to our website!
